There are two reasons as to why I’ve started this blog. I call those two reasons the Big Reason and the Little Reason, even though sometimes I don’t even know which one is which. One thing I do know is that one of them is of the selfish kind, the personal kind. It has something to do with the fact that my self-confidence has slumped rapidly in the past year or two. In fact I cannot even remember the time when it was truly high. So, I guess I’ve started this blog in hopes of building it up to its heights through writing.
But then there is the second reason, the one that truly got me started. I was laying on the couch one night, just going through the internet and I accidentally found this video about an African-American tribe woman telling the story of the time she first saw a white person. The story in the video, although very interesting, has nothing to do with my reason, but the way this woman looked has everything to do with it. She simply looked different, she did not fit the mold. Her nose was big, eyes small, her face swollen and body shape large, yet… she was, in her on way, beautiful. This got me thinking about the whole beauty concept and how it puts a lot of pressure on us to look a certain way, when really all that is important is what we radiate, our energy.
So my main wish here is to show to myself and to anyone who will listen that there is more to looks then just what the eye sees and that there are many thing that define us and our self-confidence. Those things are going to be the main topic of this blog.
Let’s get started!
